Crossing the Line: A Suggested Itinerary for the South Pacific

By Alex Christodoulou

First, you find the invisible line. Then you pay your tolls and politely ask Poseidon to let you cross. He's the one in charge out here, after all.

Once he says yes, you cross, raise your first drink with good friends on deck, and watch your first sunset on the South Side with the one you love.

Next, you try to find Moorea! Then Raiatea! Then Tahiti, so you can practice the three French words you know. Along the way you climb up for views that don't look real, float in water so clear and warm you never want to get out, and sit down for a long lunch by the beach with a cold Hinano.

And then you keep sailing on in search of Hobbiton.

That's my suggested itinerary for today. 😍
